Abstract

This panel presentation will focus on the treatment of undocumented migrant children and children of undocumented parents in some countries around the world. I will present how the treatment in these countries is contrary to the Convention on the Rights of the Child and detrimental to the healthy development of children.

After this presentation the attendees will learn the following:

1.- The impact of punitive immigration laws and policies on children.

2.- The importance of NGOs support for the implementation of the rights of the child in their countries.

3.- Some recommendations about what NGOs can do to help migrant children in their countries will be provided.
