OHCHR Special Procedures Bulletin – 10th
Issue Now Available
The
10th issue of the Special Procedures Bulletin by the
Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is now
available on-line. This issue reports on activities of the Special
Procedures from July to September 2008.

6th Session
of the Intergovernmental Working Group on the Effective Implementation
of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action – Second
Part, 3 – 7 November 2008, Geneva
According to an
information note by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human
Rights (OHCHR), the second part of the 6th session of
the intergovernmental working group on the effective implementation
of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action will be held from
3 to 7 November in Conference Room XXI at the Palais des Nations
in Geneva. NGOs with ECOSOC status and those that were accredited
to participate in the 2001 World Conference against Racism may attend
the session. The interested NGOs should provide the names of their
representatives by fax +41-(0)-22-928-9050 on letterhead, signed
by an appropriate official of their organisations. Already accredited
NGOs are asked to announce their participation to the same fax number
in order to obtain entry badges.
Third Session of
the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) Working Group, 1 – 15 December
2008, Geneva
The third Session of the UPR Working
Group is scheduled to take place from 1 to 15 December 2008
at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. The first meeting will take
place on 1 December at 10:00 hours and the Secretariat of the
Human Rights Council invites participants to be present at least
30 minutes before the meeting starts.
Requests for accreditation should
be sent to the Secretariat of the Human Rights Council, to the attention
of Mr Michael Amstrong
(+41-(0)22-917-9269).
The accreditation office at the
“Pregny Gate” for the UPR Session is open from 9:00
to 17:00 hours from Monday to Friday.
