Gender Training Community of Practice (GT CoP) – UN-INSTRAW
The United Nations International Research and Training Institute
for the Advancement of Women (UN-INSTRAW) has launched a website
for gender training community of practice (GT CoP). The purpose
of the website is to bring together a variety of practitioners
to take stock of the current situation of gender training. The
site includes, inter alia, a “gender training wiki”
and “gender training virtual dialogues”. Visit the

E-Forum on Gender-Responsive
Land Tools

The Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) Secretariat, hosted by UN-HABITAT,
has launched an online forum on gender-responsive land tools.

The 2008 Conference of the Road to Copenhagen Process – “Last
Stop for Climate Action before Poznan” will take place on
6 November 2008 in Brussels and online. The conference is
to bridge the gap between citizens and UN climate change policy
negotiators. Its objectives are to assure the inclusion of a social
and sustainable dimension in the climate change debate and to
provide relevant ideas and recommendations from those not represented
in the negotiations.

of Poverty, 17 October 2008, New York
The official UN Commemoration of the International Day for the Eradication
of Poverty is being jointly organised by the UN Department of
Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and ATD Fourth World. It
will take place on 17 October 2008 from 13:15 to 14:45 hours
in Room 2 at UN Headquarters in New York .
The event will feature a roundtable dialogue on issues of extreme
poverty, human rights and participation.
