Unite for Sight – 6^th Annual Global Health and Development Conference, 18 – 19 April 2009, Yale University , New Haven

Under the title “Achieving Global Goals Through Innovation”, the Unite for Sight - 6^th Annual Global Health and Development Conference will be held from 18 to 19 April 2009 at Yale University in New Haven . This multi-stakeholder event will convene 2’500 participants “to incubate ideas”.

Gender Training Community of Practice (GT CoP) – UN-INSTRAW

The United Nations International Research and Training Institute for the Advancement of Women (UN-INSTRAW) has launched a website for gender training community of practice (GT CoP). The purpose of the website is to bring together a variety of practitioners to take stock of the current situation of gender training. The site includes, inter alia, a “gender training wiki” and “gender training virtual dialogues”. Visit the new website here.

 

 

E-Forum on Gender-Responsive Land Tools – Ends 15 October 2008

The Global Land Tool Network (GLTN) Secretariat, hosted by UN-HABITAT, has launched an online forum on gender-responsive land tools. The E-Forum is open to all but registration is obligatory for posting. It is open until 15 October 2008.

The 2008 Conference of the Road to Copenhagen Process – “Last Stop for Climate Action before Poznan” will take place on 6 November 2008 in Brussels and online. The conference is to bridge the gap between citizens and UN climate change policy negotiators. Its objectives are to assure the inclusion of a social and sustainable dimension in the climate change debate and to provide relevant ideas and recommendations from those not represented in the negotiations.

The official UN Commemoration of the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is being jointly organised by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and ATD Fourth World. It will take place on 17 October 2008 from 13:15 to 14:45 hours in Room 2 at UN Headquarters in New York .

The event will feature a roundtable dialogue on issues of extreme poverty, human rights and participation.
