CONGO Civil Society Development Forum 2008 - Geneva Component, 27 - 28 October

Following CONGO's Civil Society Development Forum (CSDF) 2008 New York Component
(27 - 29 June 2008), the CSDF 2008 Geneva Component is now scheduled to take
place on 27 and 28 October 2008.

UN International Day of Older Persons - Culture and Religion for all Ages?,
1 October 2008, Geneva
The Geneva International Network on Ageing (GINA) is organising an event, in
commemoration of the UN International Day of Older Persons, with the theme:
"Culture and Religion for all Ages?" on 1 October from 10:00 to 14:30 hours
in the Main Hall at the World Council of Churches in Geneva. This event has
the participation of UNFPA and former UN civil servants, and comprises a message
from Archbishop Desmond Tutu as the Chair of the "Global Elders" (created
with Kofi Annan and Nelson Mandela). A reception will be offered by the City
of Geneva. Simultaneous translation (French/English) is available.
