The SEED Initiative - Supporting Entrepreneurs for Sustainable Development, calls for submissions to the 2008 SEED Awards for Entrepreneurship in Sustainable Development to be closed on 16 March 2008. Founded by IUCN, UNDP and UNEP to deliver concrete progress towards the internationally-agreed, aspirational goals in the UN’s Millennium Declaration and the commitments made at the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg in 2002, the SEED Initiative welcomes innovative ideas from any group in a developing country, which is working in partnership with others to generate environmental and social benefits in an entrepreneurial way. Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) invite you to the 2008 International Women's Day Seminar seminar: At What Cost? Women, Wars, Weapons and Conflict Prevention. The seminar will be held on 5 March at the International Conference Centre Geneva (CICG) followed by a dialogue with NGOs to be held on 6 March at the Council Chamber of the Palais des Nations in Geneva. Cosponsored by WILPF and the Geneva Forum, invited panellists include President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan, Mary Robinson, Wangari Mathai and Naomi Klein among others.
