PROGRAM SERVICES

IFCW's Dual Program Objectives

1. Capacity building of NGOs through organisation and staff development by:

  • Creating vision and direction;
  • Achieving potential in staff,
  • Fundraising;
  • Strategic decision making;
  • Accountability.

2.  Focus on critical issues in child welfare - setting first priorities for NGOs using the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child as a reference point.

WorldForum

The IFCW WorldForum is an annual leadership forum for NGOs, a congenial place where national and international leaders in child welfare, government, business and academia can exchange ideas in a conducive setting, away from the demands of one's daily working environment, where new friends are made and collaborations are formed.

The purpose of each WorldForum is to provide a non-thematic space in time for CEO's of nongovernmental organizations to come together.  The event provides a platform for interaction that is direct, efficient, global, personalized, and on the highest level.  It is independent, impartial, not-for-profit and tied to no political, partisan or regional interests.

The WorldForum is the non-governmental Global Leadership Summit for Child Welfare, a gathering of equals from every continent with leaders of smaller child welfare NGO's and other, often larger and more established child welfare NGO's having an opportunity to establish contact and to build peer relationships of mutual benefit - by sharing:

  • ideas;
  • challenges;
  • issues;
  • solutions;
  • techniques, and
  • approaches

... which build organizational capacity and individual leadership skills to better serve the needs of children and families.

Executive Institute

TheIFCW Executive Institute on Organisational and Leadership Development is held during the WorldForum. This is designed for members seeking comprehensive programs on leadership, management and the development of human and financial resources that build organisational capacity and individual leadership skills.

The Executive Institute also orients WorldForum participants to the WorldForum program, its terms of reference and topical nomenclature -- to assist each participant in gaining the most from their investment in the WorldForum experience.
